I would like answers to the following points;

2. Who is responsible for managing in-house grounds maintenance teams or
contractors?

3. What is the contact name, address and email of the person responsible
for managing grounds maintenance activities?

4. What is the annual grounds maintenance budget?

5. Do you receive additional Government, non-profit or voluntary
donations, specifically for grounds maintenance tasks?

I would like the above formation to be provided electronically. I
understand that you are legally compelled to respond to my request within

Dear Mr Wright

I write further to my colleague Charlotte Smith’s response below, and now
write by way of formal response.

As Charlotte had indicated, we are not subject to the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. Our response below is therefore pursuant to our
obligations under the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR).

1.       Is grounds maintenance (i.e. mowing, tree work, weed spraying
etc.) work undertaken by in-house teams or contracted out?

We have now brought the management of ground maintenance work in-house.
Some specialist work is outsourced, however this is minimal.

2. Who is responsible for managing in-house grounds maintenance teams or
contractors?

This is not strictly environmental information to which you are entitled
to receive under EIR. However I understand that Mark Booth, our GM manager
has indicated he does not object to his name being provided.

3. What is the contact name, address and email of the person responsible
for managing grounds maintenance activities?

As indicated this is not environmental information you are entitled to.
However we are willing to provide you with the necessary details in this
instance if you contact me directly and NOT via whatdotheyknow, as that is
information which gets published in the public domain.

4. What is the annual grounds maintenance budget?

The annual budget across all UU work is £4.5m, across all areas for all
work.

5. Do you receive additional Government, non-profit or voluntary
donations, specifically for grounds maintenance tasks?

No donations or government support is received by us.

We hope that this now meets with your request. However, should you
consider that we have not adequately complied with our obligations under
EIR, you have the right to ask us to carry out an internal review, by
writing to David Hannon Head of Legal, United Utilities, Legal Department,
Grasmere House First Floor, Lingley Mere Business Park, Lingley Green
Avenue, Great Sankey, Warrington, WA5 3LP. Alternatively, you may find it
easier to e-mail us directly on [1][United Utilities request email] and your review
request will be forwarded on to Mr Hannon.

Your request for review should explain why you wish a review to be carried
out, and should be made within 40 working days of receipt of this letter,
and we will reply within 40 working days of receipt. If you are not
satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to make a
formal complaint to the Information Commissioner.

Finally, kindly acknowledge receipt by return of e-mail.

Yours sincerely
