Grounds Maintenance
Dear Conisbrough Station Road Primary School, Doncaster,
I am writing to make an open government request for all of the
information, to which I am entitled to request under the Freedom of
Information Act 2000.
I would like answers to the following points;
1. Is grounds maintenance (ie mowing, tree work, weed spraying etc) work
undertaken by in-house teams or contracted out? If contracted who is the
current contractor?
2. Who is responsible for managing in-house grounds maintenance teams or
contractors?
3. What is the contact name, address and email of the person responsible
for managing grounds maintenance activities?
4. What is the annual grounds maintenance budget?
5. Do you receive additional Government, non-profit or voluntary
donations, specifically for grounds maintenance tasks?
I would like the above information to be provided electronically. I
understand that you are legally compelled to respond to my request within
20 working days after receipt of my letter. I would be grateful if you
could confirm in writing that you have received this request.
Yours faithfully,
Steve Wright

Dear Mr Wright,
Further to your Freedom of Information request dated Date, I have been
asked to advise you that we will not be providing an answer on the grounds
that your request is likely to cause disproportionate or unjustified
disruption to our work.
Astrea Academy Trust is exercising its right under s14(1) of the Freedom
of Information Act 2000 and guidance on this can be found on the website
of the Information Commissioner’s Office here:
[1]https://ico.org.uk/media/for-organisatio...
The Trust has a responsibility as a charity and as an academy trust to
ensure that public money is spent appropriately and in the best interests
of the children served by our schools. In making these decisions, we ask
whether the request is likely to cause disproportionate or unjustified
disruption to our work. Pursuant to case law in this area, we may also
consider whether a request is an inappropriate or improper use of the
Freedom of Information Act.
In this instance, it was decided that answering your request would cause
unjustified and disproportionate disruption to our work and that Astrea
Academy Trust would not be in breach of its statutory duties, nor of its
commitment to transparency, in refusing the request. This is because the
time involved in collating the information that you have requested would
inevitably disrupt the work of the Trust in seeking to educate it pupils,
and there is very limited public interest in the information that you have
requested. Although there is clearly a public interest in how public
authorities spend money, information in this regard is already made public
through the accounts, and the details you have requested do not add
anything meaningful to the information that is already available.
If you would like to request a review of this decision, or have any other
questions or queries regarding the above please do not hesitate to contact
me via email: [email address]
Yours sincerely
