Gross Misconduct Investigation Records

We're waiting for Mr Brett to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Metropolitan Police Service (MPS),

If a Police Officer or Civilian Staff is permitted to resign during an internal investigation, how long does this remain of their service record for? Are they able to return or join another Police Service in a different capacity (ie Civilian Staff after being a Police Officer) Can the investigation ever be re-opened or the matter later settled? Are there an Police Officers or Civilian Staff employed by the Met who resigned previously from the Met or by another Police Service whilst being under investigated?

Yours faithfully,

Anonymous
