Dear Dartford Borough Council,
Can you please provide a full copy of information relating to grants issued to Dartford Football club.
It has came to my attention that £90,000 of tax payer funds was given to the club and that the director of the club is a council employee.
In addition to this, it appears that the council has created a five year service level agreement which is funneling further funds to the club.
Cam you provide the full tendering process of this agreement- given that it exceeds £10,000.
Thank you for your FOI request which will be responded to within 20
working days unless the Council agrees an extension of time with you.
Dear Rev. Pearsall,
Further to your request for information, the following grants have been
paid to Dartford Football Club through the 'Club Together' grant scheme:
• 2021/22 £4,500 Spectator Barrier Fence
• 2020/21 £6,750 Literacy Skills/Outdoor Activity Through
Sport (grant awarded to Dartford FC Community Programme CIC)
• 2019/20 £3,250 Replacement of floors.
• 2018/19 £2,500 New lighting.
There is a service level agreement in place with Dartford Football Club.
This is reviewed annually and requires a number of outputs to be delivered
by the club. In this case, due to the specialist nature of the club and
the fact that many of the outputs can only be delivered within the
district at these facilities, the service level agreement is signed off at
Director level under the scheme of delegations to officers.
The Leader of the Council is a director of Dartford Football Club (for
which he is not remunerated). Elected councillors are not employees of
the Council. As a director of the club, the Leader has made the
appropriate declaration of interest and is excluded from any
involvement in council decisions concerning the football club in order to
avoid a conflict of interest.
