Dear Scottish Natural Heritage,

Can you give me the grants paid to Councils as I notice this information is missing in the spreadsheet in one of my previous requests. As an example, Aberdeenshire Council and the NESBReC project has been funded every year from 2000 onward but for some reason for 2013 onward Council funding isn't noted even although I am aware you are still funding this project.

Yours faithfully,

Iain Lawrie

Dear FOI,

Many thanks for the reply. If it's not too much trouble, I'd like some clarification on your response.

It would be helpful if you could show why you are now treating NESBReC as an organisation in its own right rather than a project within Aberdeenshire Council. A recent FoI to Aberdeenshire Council makes it clear that NESBReC sits within the Specialist Services of the Council. Can you provide the most recent NESBReC grant application and any other documentation that shows the change of circumstances which means you now fund NESBReC directly (it might be helpful if you define directly as this could mean simply that this goes directly to Aberdeenshire Council to be operated within a budget solely for the purpose of NESBReC). Can you supply the documentation that shows that NESBReC is operating directly from a budget that is independent of Aberdeenshire Council ? It would be helpful if you can also tell me the VAT registration number of NESBReC and if this has changed over the past 5 years.

Please treat this as a request for clarification of information given in your response, but if you feel this should be treated as a separate FoI request then please treat it as such.

Yours sincerely,

Iain Lawrie
