Dear Sir/Madam

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST

Further to your request regarding grant money, I have spoken to the Grants Section and they have informed me that there is a lot of information held. The Grants Section alone have 44 spreadsheets with an average of about 60 rows on each. There are other sections which allocate grants and these sections account for more than half of the grants allocated by the council. This means there may be tens of thousands of grants allocated over the period you requested. With this in mind do you want to narrow the period of your request?

Yours sincerely

Dear Sir,

I am particularly looking for information on:

How much money was allocated to Muslim community, religious, educational..etc. organizations (compared to the total grant money), between 1998-2009.

If these 40 spreadsheets are on electronic file, you can send them to me as they are, and I can go through them to extract the information I need.

I hope this sheds more light unto what information is requested. Thank you for your assistance.

Yours sincerely,

Eren Tatari

Dear Ms Tatari

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST

Thank you for your request for information received by the Council on 3 March. As stated in my previous email there are 44 spreadsheets from the Grants Section alone. Because there are so many I will send them in 3 separate emails.

Please note that there are other departments within the council that allocate grants. The information from these departments could easily be the equivalent of more than 50 spreadsheets similar in size to the ones attached to this email. Do you still require this information? Please also be aware that it will be very difficult to establish which organisations are Muslim as the spreadsheets only include the name of the organisation.

You are free to use the information supplied for your own use, including for non-commercial research purposes. The information may also be used for the purposes of news reporting. However, any other type of re-use, for example, by publishing the information, issuing copies to the public or marketing will require our permission as copyright holder. If you intend to re-use this information in the manner described above you must apply to us.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, please follow the Freedom of Information complaints process: http://www.ealing.gov.uk/services/counci...

Your request for an internal review should be submitted to us within 40 working days of your receipt of this response. Any such request received after this time will only be considered at our discretion.

If you are not satisfied with the results of the internal appeal you can then complain to the Information Commissioner at:
