Graduates applying to A100 - Medicine Admission Statistics

The request was successful.

Dear Queen Mary, University of London,

I am writing to ascertain the number of graduate places available on the A100 5-year MBBS programme.

Could you please tell me the number of graduates who applied to this programme for 2011/2012 entry, how many were called for interview, and how many were offered places? I believe you do not use a UKCAT cut-off per se for the 5-year programme, but could you please confirm this?

Out of the graduate applicants, I would like to know the lowest UKCAT score to receive an interview for the A100 5-year course.

Yours faithfully,
Maria Cain

Queen Mary University of London

We acknowledge receipt of your request and will respond as soon as we can.

Apologies, may I extend this to 2012/2013 applicants in addition to 2011/2012.

Yours,
Maria Cain

Dear Maria Cain

Thank you for your emails requesting information about graduate
applications to A100 in 2011/12 and 2012/13.

Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry offer 260 places for
the MBBS 5 year programme. We do not have a pre-determined number of
places allocated for graduates in the A100 programme.

Please see the attached for the figures you requested.

Graduates who apply for this programme will be assessed to ensure they
meet our minimum academic criteria. Applicants who meet these criteria
will then be ranked against the other graduate applicants applying in that
year according to their overall UKCAT score to determine which applicants
to short-list for interview. Therefore, for each year of entry the UKCAT
total scores threshold is the lowest UKCAT score to receive an interview.

If you are dissatisfied with this response, you may ask the College to
conduct a review of this decision.  To do this, please contact the College
in writing (including by fax, letter or email), describe the original
request, explain your grounds for dissatisfaction, and include an address
for correspondence.  You have 40 working days from receipt of this
communication to submit a review request.  When the review process has
been completed, if you are still dissatisfied, you may ask the Information
Commissioner to intervene. Please see [1]www.ico.gov.uk for details.

Yours sincerely
