Graduated fixed penalties issued and collected by VOSA
Dear Vehicle and Operator Services Agency,
VOSA has had the power to issue Graduated Fixed Penalties (GFPs) since 28 May 2009.
GFP's fall under three catagories:
1)Fixed Penalty Notice – issued for relevant offences to drivers who are able to provide a satisfactory address within the UK.
2)Fixed Penalty Deposit – as above, but where the driver is unable to provide a satisfactory UK address (usually foreign based drivers). This requires immediate payment.
3)Court Deposit – issued to drivers without a satisfactory UK address for offences which are to be prosecuted in court. This requires immediate payment.
I would like to know.
1) The total number of GFPs issued by VOSA, on an annual basis, since 28 May 2009 to date.
2) The total number of payments taken by VOSA, on an annual basis, for GFPs issued since 28 May 2009 to date.
3) The total number of outstanding or uncollected GFPs, on an annual basis, issued by VOSA since 28 May 2009.
4) I would also like the above data to differentiate between UK registered trucks and foreign registered trucks.
Yours faithfully,
Christopher Walton
