Graduate Dentistry A200 graduate applicants inquiry

The request was partially successful.

Dear Cardiff University,

I would like to kindly ask if you could clarify how you score graduate qualifications for the Dental Surgery A200 course. Do you also look at the GCSE and A level results in that case?
Also, if someone has a band 2 SJT will be in a disadvantage or you only look for a band 1 SJT?

Yours faithfully,

Sarlize Cha.

Dear Sarlize Cha

I acknowledge receipt of your email received by this office on 27 September 2023.

Your request will now be dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and has been allocated reference FOI23-433 which should be quoted in all correspondence.

I would like to kindly ask if you could clarify how you score graduate qualifications for the Dental Surgery A200 course. Do you also look at the GCSE and A level results in that case?
Also, if someone has a band 2 SJT will be in a disadvantage or you only look for a band 1 SJT?

This is not a question which can be answered by information held in a recorded form.

The ICO Guidance states that, "The FOIA and the EIR apply to information held by public authorities. They do not have to create new information to respond to requests." The guidance further advises that whilst simple addition and totalling of data would not amount to the creation of new data, ..."If extracting the information relevant to the request requires a high level of skill and judgement, this would amount to creating new information not already held."

It is our view that the creation of the information that you have requested is more than a simple calculation and in accordance with the Guidance we do not believe that we are required to do the extra work required to create this information.

We would advise you contact the dental department directly: [email address]

Yours sincerely
