Dear Shumeng Wang,

Thank you for your information request below. As explained in our acknowledgement, we were experiencing a high volume of requests compounded by unplanned staff absences at the time your request was received. We apologise for not being able to progress your request as quickly as we would have hoped.

The University’s working arrangements are now affected by the Coronavirus outbreak and it may be several months before we are able to return to normal operations. While we will make all efforts to process information requests please be aware that in many cases there will be further delay. If you would like to withdraw your request at this time and resubmit it later please let us know.

The Scottish Information Commissioner has issued a statement on the impact of the Covid-19 virus on FOI timescales: http://www.itspublicknowledge.info/home/.... If you do not receive a response to your request within 20 working days of the day we received your request, you do have the right to ask the University to conduct an internal review of the reasons for the delay. If you wish to do this you should write to the Records Management Section (using this email address), describing the original request, explaining your grounds for dissatisfaction, and including an address for correspondence. However, please note that the legislation only allows requesters to make one internal review request in relation to a request. Therefore if you ask for an internal review on the basis of our response being late, you will not be able to seek a further internal review if you are dissatisfied with the content of the response to your request when you receive it and your next step will be to appeal to the Scottish Information Commissioner as described above.
