Grades at University
Dear University of Manchester,
Could you please provide statistics regarding % of students who graduate with a certain grade?
For example,
10% of students achieved 70-75%
8% of students achieved 76-80%
...
...
6% of students achieved 95-100%
Please do this separately for Physics, Mathematics and Engineering (ALL) and include grades from 70% up to 100%, with divisions every 5%.
Yours faithfully,
David

Dear B Javed,
Thank you for your request for information received by The University of

The data you have requested can be found on the attached spread-sheet
entitled “FOI 018-217 Student Grade Percentages”. Please note that data
was requested separately from the following schools:
School of Physics and Astronomy
School of Mathematics
School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science (CEAS)
School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE)
School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE)
The latter three schools of which were contacted as you requested separate
data for all engineering subjects.
On the spread-sheet there is a separate tab for each school listed above.
Please note that as the data has been prepared by each individual school
there may be some small differences in how the data is presented and
therefore the data may not be directly comparable for analysis purposes.
As you did not specify a timeframe we have given statistics from the past
two complete academic years for comparison purposes. Please note these are
for undergraduate degree courses only.
I trust this information is of use to you.
Kind regards
Sharon
