COMMUNITY BENEFIT SERVICES LTD.

 

What training is provided to doctors working evenings and weekends? The
CCG does not hold this information but you may be able to get the
information you require directly from NEMS.

 

How many doctors are employed to cover the OOH service? The CCG does not
hold this information but you may be able to get the information you
require directly from NEMS.

 

Who is the medical director for the ccg? NHS Nottingham City CCG does not
employ a Medical Director.

the ccg and the OOH GP service? Not applicable as, further to our answer
to question five, NHS Nottingham City CCG does not employ a Medical
Director. In terms of the OOH GP Service, NHS Nottingham City is a
commissioning organisation and therefore does not hold this information.  

 

How many GP training meetings have been held in the last twelve months for
your doctors in the day service and for doctors in the OOH service? For
doctors in the day service the CCG funds 4 cross-CCG protected learning
time (PLT) events per year and there are training plans in place for
doctors in the OOH service.

 

What topics have been discussed at these meetings? For CCG funded PLT
events – Cardiology, safeguarding, dermatology, Renal & vascular disease.
Information related to the training plans for doctors in the OOH service
is not held by NHS Nottingham City CCG. You may be able to source this
information by contacting NEMS directly.

 

Are the minutes of these meetings published for public viewing and
scrutiny? No, these are training meetings, not public meetings.  

 

How many complaints have been made about the OOH GP service ? 19 patient
complaints in the 9 month lifetime of the new OOHs contract with NEMS.

 

What is the complaints policy of the ooh GP service? This information is
not held by NHS Nottingham City CCG. However, you may be able to source

What learning points have been identified from the complaints?

Some of the key learning points from the complaints received include:

Staff being told of the importance of keeping waiting room informed
regarding waiting times.

That any concerns by staff about patients in the waiting room should be
escalated to a clinician to assess if the patient needs to be seen.

The requirement for agency nurses to be monitored regularly, with
performance reviews (as required).

 

Are all doctors informed of the learning points from each valid complaint
? At the CCG contract management monitoring meetings reassurance is
provided that all learning points from complaints are shared with staff.

 

What is the policy of the OOH GP service for improving the quality of the
service provided by its doctors? This information is not held by NHS
Nottingham City CCG. However, you may be able to source this information

What is the policy of the CCG for improving the quality of the service
provided by its doctors? As part of the contractual obligations, the
quality of the service provided is monitored via performance related
reviews and quality reviews.
