Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

gov.verify is available to login to some government services. Can you please provide the most recent figures available for:

1. The total number of people that have successfully created a gov.verify account
2. The total number of people that have a government gateway account
3.1 The number of government services that can be accessed by gov.verify
3.2 the number of government services that can be access by government gateway
3.3 the number of government services that can be accessed by both

Finally, it was announced earlier this year on the GDS blog that government gateway will be decommissioned next year. Is that the case and if so, what is the date for decommissioning.

Yours faithfully,

Alan Chaplin

Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

I have found the website https://www.gov.uk/performance/govuk-ver... which lists the number of verify users and services using it so no need to look up the answers to 1 and 3.1 of my original request.

Yours faithfully,

Alan Chaplin

Dear Mr Chaplin,

Freedom of Information Act 2000 Acknowledgement

Thank you for your communication of 7th September which has been passed to
HMRC's Freedom of Information Team.

We have allocated the above reference which you should quote if you need
to contact us.

The Team will arrange for a reply to be sent to you which will either
comply with HMRC's obligations under Freedom of Information Act or, if we
think it's an enquiry that we don't need to address under the terms of the
Act, let you know why. If it is the latter we will, if possible, pass it
on to a more appropriate part of the Department for answer.

Yours sincerely

HMRC Freedom of Information Act Team
