Governments Response to UN Enquiry on Disabled Peoples Human Rights

Department for Work and Pensions did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

The government’s response to the UN inquiry into the UK which found that disabled people’s Human rights were being gravely and systematically violated states that “Disability Confident supports employers to employ disabled people by encouraging business-to-business discussion about the benefits of employing disabled people. More than 2400 employers have signed up to the new Disability Confident scheme which started in July.”

Given the previous disastrous results of Disability Confident how many disabled people have these 2.400 firms employed since July 2016?

How many have been offered permanent jobs?

How will the employment outcomes of Disability Confident be measured and monitored?

Yours faithfully,

Paul Taylforth
