Government interest payment on government debt

The request was refused by HM Revenue and Customs.

Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

As we are lead to understand that Inflation as measured by RPI will hit 18% at some time in the near future,

1 What will be the monthly interest due on government borrowing?

2 if this inflation rate continues what will the annual cost of interest payments be?

Yours faithfully,

D Shaw
