Governance Concerns - South Lanarkshire College

The request was refused by South Lanarkshire College.

Dear South Lanarkshire College,

I write under the Freedom of Information Scotland Act 2002 and request the following information:

What ‘governance concerns’ (Glasgow Herald, 7th February), led to the commissioning of two ‘externally-led, independent’ investigations.

Who are the two investigators?

Who appointed the two investigators and what is the anticipated cost of the investigations?

Are these investigations related to the SFC governance review and/or to the earlier forensic investigation?

When are these investigations likely to conclude?

I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request.

Yours faithfully,

Brian Sorrell

FOI OFFICE

Dear South Lanarkshire College,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of South Lanarkshire College's handling of my FOI request 'Governance Concerns - South Lanarkshire College'.

Thank you for your response of 10 March 2022 to my FOI request of 10 February 2022. I request an internal review of your refusal to provide information on:

• The governance concerns which are outlined in the media on a regular basis – this is a public interest matter.

• The investigators who are conducting the investigation into the governance concerns. Again, this is a matter of public interest, both knowing the companies involved and the individuals doing the work.

• I note your response to my question 3, that the Board appointed the investigators. I would ask for the additional clarification, under the terms of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 - under what power or delegated authority did the College board of management appoint these individuals; and what is the extent of the delegated financial authority of the College board.

• I request an internal review of your refusal to provide an anticipated cost for these investigations – this is a matter of public interest.

• Thank you for your clarification of my question 4, which I note.

• I request an internal review of your refusal to provide an anticipated timeline for these investigations – this is a matter of public interest.
