GMC Internal inquiry into deaths during fitness to practice proceedings

The request was successful.

Dear General Medical Council,

Pursuant on my previous request

I understand that the General Medical Council have commissioned an
internal inquiry into suicides of doctors during fitness to
practice proceedings. I understand this was due to publish its
finding in July 2014 and then later, that it was due to be published in November 2014

Could you tell me whether the report has been published and if not,
when it is due to report its findings

Yours faithfully,

liz miller

Dear Ms Miller

I write in response to your Freedom of Information request below.

I have noted your email of 30 December 2014 which makes it clear that you have now seen Sarndrah Horsfall's report, which was published on 19 December at http://www.gmc-uk.org/Internal_review_in....

Your latest email is seeking a response to your request for data regarding doctors who have died, including those subject to IOP suspensions (our ref F14/6735/ME). I am sorry that we have not yet responded. This request is being dealt with by my colleague, Mark Ellen ([email address]). The data you have asked for is not readily available and is still being collated by another team; Mark is aware of that this is overdue and that you are chasing. He will respond as soon as possible.

If you are unhappy with our handling of either of these requests and wish to contact the Information Access Manager, Julian Graves, his email address is [email address]

Yours sincerely

Dear Ms Miller

I responded to your request, which was for information on when the report on doctors who commit suicide while under GMC fitness to practise investigation would be published, on 5 January. My response is in the email chain below.

You are perhaps referring to another request (our ref F14/6735/ME) which I updated you on but is being dealt with by my colleague, Mark Ellen. I have copied Mark in to this email so that he is aware of your enquiry and so that he can update you when more information is available.

Yours sincerely
