Glow Access (P1-P2)
Dear Aberdeenshire Council,
FAO Education Department
Dear Sir/Madam,
I was hoping you could help me.
I'm trying to find out if school children in primary 1 and 2 have been given access to their Glow accounts (provided with their username and password) for the period of home learning during lockdown? That is indeed assuming these children have a Glow account ordinarily.
If not, could I query why this has not been provided?
Many thanks in advance,
Nicola

Good morning,
Please note that under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002,
Section 8(1)(b) in order for a request to be valid, the request must state
the name of the applicant. The Scottish Information Commissioner has
advised that a first (given) name on its own is not sufficient. Scottish
Information Commissioner [1]guidance on this can be found on its
[2]website.
In light of this, I would respectfully ask that you re-submit your request
including your first name and surname/family name.
Regards,
Freedom of Information Co-ordinator

Dear Nicola Cooke
Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 (“The Act”)
We refer to your request dated 24/01/2021 19:00, for the following
information regarding P1 and P2 access to Glow accounts.
We confirm that the Council holds the following information, which we
believe satisfies your request.
I'm trying to find out if school children in primary 1 and 2 have been
given access to their Glow accounts (provided with their username and
password) for the period of home learning during lockdown? That is indeed
assuming these children have a Glow account ordinarily.
All learners from P1-S6 in Aberdeenshire receive a Glow user account.
Each school manages their learners’ Glow accounts and can reset passwords
for those who can’t successfully login. Some of our schools use
alternative tools other than Glow to provide online learning for their
youngest learners, so they might not actively be using Glow for all their
learning. When in school, all learners will access Glow.
Please contact me as the officer responsible for responding to your
request if you have any further queries.
If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with this response, please refer
to the further information below.
Yours faithfully
Freedom of Information Co-ordinator
