Glasgow Council Disability Parking PCNs

The request was successful.

Dear Glasgow City Council,

Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request data regarding the number of motorists issued PCNs for wrongly parking in designated disabled person’s parking bays.

Can I please receive a total count of PCNs issued for violating the following contravention codes:
Code 40. “Parked in a designated disabled person’s parking place without displaying a valid disabled person’s badge in the prescribed manner.”
Code 87. “Parked in a designated disabled person’s parking place without displaying a valid disabled person’s badge in the prescribed manner.”

I wish to solely receive the total amount of PCNs motorists have been issued for violating these codes.

If I could please receive this total count for the time period of 01/04/2018 - 31/03/2019 that would be fantastic.

If you require any further clarification, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Yours faithfully,

Russ Hunter

Dear Mr Hunter

Thank you for your request for information dated 6 April 2020.

Under the freedom of information legislation, Glasgow City Council
normally has a statutory obligation to respond to requests for information
within 20 working days.  However, in light of the current impact of the
COVID-19 virus, the Scottish Government has put in place the Coronavirus
(Scotland) Act 2020 which extends this time limit, allowing Scottish
public bodies up to 60 working days to respond to requests.  There is
further provision for an additional 40 working days to be added to
response times in certain circumstances.

Unfortunately on this occasion it has not been possible for us to answer
the questions you have asked us within the normal 20 working day time
frame.  In accordance with the new legislation, the date that we must
respond to you now is 2 July 2020.  If we think it will be necessary to
consider the additional 40 working day extension period, we will write to
you again.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Council has had to prioritise
its resources into critical service areas such as public health, cleansing
and social work and education.  In line with government guidance, there
are also a number of staff working remotely and so capacity and access to
our usual computer systems is currently limited.  We will continue to work
on our response to your information request and we will send this to you
as soon as we can.  We would like to thank you for your patience and
understanding in the current circumstances.

Regards
