Dear Mr Ahmed
Your information access request
Thank you for your email dated 16 November 2022, where you request the
following in regards to applicants who have applied for registration with
the GMC from the following medical universities in Georgia:
New Vision University Medical School
European University Medical School
1) Total number of applicants from each institute listed who have applied
for GMC registration (year wise for last 5 years)
2) Number of successful applicants (year wise for last 5 years)
3) The most recent date a student from each university was on the medical
register
4) The most recent date a student from each University was granted
registration
I’ve considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000 (FOIA).
I can confirm that no doctors with a PMQ from New Vision University
Medical School or the European University Medical School have been
granted GMC registration as of 1 December 2022.
We received one application from a doctor with a PMQ from New Vision
University Medical School in 2021, but the applicant was not eligible for
the selected route and was therefore unsuccessful. I have provided some
information below on selecting the incorrect application route.
Incorrect application routes
There are different methods for an applicant to apply for registration
with a licence to practice, and the application required depends on the
qualification and experience of the doctor. Where an applicant selects the
incorrect application route, said application is not eligible and is
therefore unsuccessful.
For more information on application routes please see: [1]Application
Registration - GMC (gmc-uk.org)
I hope you find this information useful. If you have any queries about
this, or need anything further, please contact me on the details below.
Yours sincerely
