General Medical Council e-mails

We're waiting for Michael Bridger to read recent responses and update the status.

Michael Bridger

Dear Care Quality Commission,

I am writing to request copies of e-mail correspondence between your organisation and the General Medical Council regarding Medical Associate Professionals.

Please can you provide copies of emails which:

- Contain the keywords "physician associate" or "physician associates" or "medical associate professional" or "anaesthesia associate"
- Were sent or received from the General Medical Council. The email domain is @gmc-uk.org
- Time limit: last 4 months (14th March 2024 - 14th July 2024)

*This time limit has been chosen to comply with Section 12. E-mail software allows for rapid searching, and only a brief review is required to remove personally identifiable information. If you still assess this will exceed the Section 12 limit, please reduce the search criteria to a time period which falls under the Section 12 limit (e.g. last 3 months/2 months) with a justification of the reduced time period.

Public authorities must advise and assist requesters. I have been very specific in my request; however, if you require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Michael Bridger

Dear Information Access,

I did not receive a response to my email yesterday. You have missed your previously stated deadline for responding to this request, and you are overdue for the statutory time limit.

I ask again for your response. I have escalated this to the ICO because I am concerned about your organisation's overall compliance with Section 10 of the FOIA.

Yours sincerely,
