Gender services - National Adolescent Gender Identity Development Service
Dear University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust,
I am writing to request information under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act (2000). My enquiries relate to the National Adolescent Gender Identity Development Service clinic that provides endocrinology services to patients referred from the Tavistock and Portman GIDS service.
Please provide:
1. the average (mean) time in weeks from referral to first treatment or assessment appointment for patients whose first such appointment happened last quarter (between 1st April to 30th June 2022 inclusive). If it is not possible to provide data in this format, please provide any statistical data you have on wait times for first appointments.
2. the average (mean) time in weeks between treatment or assessment appointments for patients who received a follow-up appointment last quarter (between 1st April to 30th June 2022 inclusive).
3. the minimum number of appointments a patient must attend at this service before being provided hormone treatment, if such a minimum exists.
4. copies of any documents (e.g. shared care agreements, prescribing guidance, training materials) that the service provides (either as a matter of course, or when appropriate) to patients’ GPs.
5. copies of any information documents (e.g. information about the service, information about patient pathways, information about treatment protocols or particular medications) that the service provides (either as a matter of course, or when appropriate) to patients and/or their families.
Please could you also confirm whether referrals to the service are currently being accepted.
Yours faithfully,
S Bradshaw
