IMPS, University of Reading

Dear Mr Fairbank,

We have completed the compilation of information in response to your request.

We can confirm that we do hold the information specified in your request.

The University is committed to the provision of gender neutral toilets across its academic estate. Several buildings have been retrofitted with gender neutral facilities. Our new estates developments include the provision of gender neutral facilities alongside gender specific facilities. This approach allows the estate to respond to the needs of the diverse University population. There are groups, such as Muslim staff, students and visitors for whom gender specific facilities are very important.

Data held by the University shows that on 01 February 2018 there were 69 toilets across the space operated by the University of Reading for academic purposes which are classed as gender neutral.

We are required to include details of our complaints procedures, including your rights to apply to the Information Commissioner. The procedure is detailed in our Freedom of Information and Environmental Information Regulations policy on the web at www.reading.ac.uk/freedom-of-information...

If we are unable to resolve any complaint, you can complain to the Information Commissioner, the independent body who oversees the access to information regimes:
