Gender and Harrasment in the Medical School

S.Jones made this Freedom of Information request to University of Leeds

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear University of Leeds,

Medical students are occasionally asked to complete surveys about gender and how safe they feel.

Last year there was "Planning for a safer and more equitable future for students in the School of Medicine"

After this there were lectures were the university said they take sexual harassment seriously, but the results of the study were not made available to the participants(medical students).

1. How many participants reported sexual harassment in this survey?
2. How many students reported knowing someone who was sexualy harrased?
3. How many students feel that their gender will limit career options?
4. Were reported incidents stratified by severity?
5.What percentage of students knew how to report harassment and were happy to do so?

An earlier survey was completed in 2015, with regard to this survey

1. How many participants reported sexual harassment in this survey?
2. How many students reported knowing someone who was sexualy harrased?
3. How many students feel that their gender will limit career options?
4.What percentage of students knew how to report harassment and were happy to do so?

In the year preceding the 2018 survey

1. How many medical students officially sexual harassment or feeling unsafe?
2. How many reports were received about student safety on placement or traveling to placement?

Yours faithfully,
S.Jones
