Dear Judicial Appointments Commission,

My name is Gary Steel and I am contacting you today to make a FOI request regarding Diversity in the application for the Bench and appointments to the Bench 2016/17.

The information I am requesting is:

1. The data on the gender and ethnicity of all applicant for the Bench in 2015, 2016 and 2017; and

2. The data on the gender and ethnicity of all appointments to the Bench in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

I am requesting this information to assist me to write my Masters' dissertation.

The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) published statistics provides information on the number of applications, shortlisting and recommendation for the appointment of Judges, both in Courts and Tribunals, on exercises held by the JAC. These statistics go back to 2010.
