GEB 5 Series of Files

Department of Health and Social Care did not have the information requested.

Dear Department of Health,

I write regarding the GEB 5 series of files, these are concerned with Blood briefings. Some volumes of these files are available on TNA's catalogue, but not all of them. I have outlined those which are not yet on TNA's Online Discovery Catalogue below. Given that the Department says it is committed to transparency please can you make the files available on the TNA's Catalogue as soon as possible?

Dear Ola Adigun,

Thank you very much for your assistance dealing with my recent request (ref: DE-1101041) which was very helpful.

I did however have one outstanding query in relation to the information that you have supplied in regard to the GEB 5 series of files. In your response you stated that... "The Department does not hold records with the file references GEB/005/V001 to GEB/005/V009. There is no record of these files being deposited with the Departmental Records Office and there are no further files in the series following GEB/005/V021."

Under FOI please could you let me know the status / whereabouts and plans for the following volumes which are not captured within your answer:

GEB 5 10 - Missing
GEB 5 11 - Missing

Yours faithfully,

JJ Evans

Dear Mr/Ms Evans,

Thank you for your further emails of 28 October about missing files on the
national archives catalogue.  I have again been asked to reply.

As you are aware, the Freedom of Information Act only applies to recorded
information such as paper or electronic archive material.  As your
correspondence asked for general information, rather than requesting
recorded information or documentation, it did not fall under the
provisions of the Act.

The information you requested on the files is as follows:

The Department of Health does not hold records with the file references
GEB/005/V009 or GEB/005/V010.  There is no record of these files being
deposited with the Departmental Records Office.

GEB/014/V001 is available at:
[1]http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk...

There are no further volumes in the series after GEB/014/V007.

The Department of Health does not hold records with the file references
GEB/021/V001 to GEB/021/V008.  There is no record of these files being
deposited with the Departmental Records Office.

I hope this reply is helpful.

Yours sincerely,

Dear Ola,

re your Ref: DE-1104523

I asked about GEB/5/10 & GEB/5/11

Your response was regarding GEB/005/V009 & GEB/005/V010
(not what I asked for)

Please can you answer my original question as you have still not provided the information requested relating GEB/005/V011

Yours faithfully,

JJ Evans

Dear Mr/Ms Evans,

Thank you for your further correspondence of 25 November about GEB 5
series of files.  I have again been asked to reply and apologise for the
delay in doing so.

The information you requested on the files is as follows:

The Department of Health does not hold records with the file reference
GEB/005/V011.  The earliest file the Department has on record in that
sequence is GEB/005/V012, which has been transferred to The National
Archives.

I hope this reply is helpful.

Yours sincerely,
