Dear Joseph,

Thank you for your request which has been received by Sussex Police.

This request will be dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and you will receive a response within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, from the date of receipt. In some circumstances Sussex Police may be unable to achieve this deadline. If this is likely you will be informed and given a revised time-scale at the earliest opportunity.

Some requests may also require either full or partial transference to another public authority in order to answer your query in the fullest possible way. Again, you will be informed if this is the case.

Please Note:
Sussex Police are currently receiving a high volume of FOI requests at a time of reduced staffing levels to process them, and operating with the continued effects of COVID-19. Every effort is being made to comply with the statutory 20 working day response deadline but on occasions this may not be possible – we apologise for the inconvenience this may cause.

Yours sincerely

You should probably direct this query to the Department of Transport as they were overseeing the whole matter of Gatwick and should make a complaint to the ICO regards the lack of a reply by Sussex Police.

Dear Mr Lloyd,

In response to your request:

I wish to see full copies of the following:

1) The final report into the Gatwick airport drone incident.

2) The independent review into the handling of the Gatwick airport drone
incident investigation.

Firstly I apologies for the inordinate length of time you have had to wait
for this response.  This was in part due to the original Section 22 notice
to exempt disclosures awaiting publication of the report into the
incident.  This has now been authorised and I attach the following:

1.       The redacted report (this is the report which was independently
run by the College of Policing)

2.       An index of redactions

3.       The required covering letter

This response will be shared with the ICO.

Regards,

Marcus Potter
