Further RNLI Comms - vegetation management

We're waiting for Richard to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council,

Since the publishing of the previous RNLI FOI, 2 consultation options have been published for the future management of Hoylake foreshore.

The comms detailed how the RNLI were considering the clearance they’d need for operations to continue at Hoylake.

Since this was published, the RNLI crew have been witnessed movinh over the vegetation at King’s Gap.
The management of vegetation for RNLI purposes features greatly in this consultation.
A 10 metre strip along the prom wall threatens a number of endangered plant species located only in that area due to their highly specialised adaptation.

For full transparency of the perceived necessary management action from the RNLI, and communication since November, please update the appropriate communications.

“As part of a beach management plan, the council officers working on possible options at Hoylake needed to communicate to the RNLI in regards to developing vegetation and whether it may have any impact on their operations from the Hoylake lifeboat station.

Please release all communications between emails ending in @rnli.org to Wirral council officers and councillors which relate to the topic of the management of developing vegetation at Hoylake beach.

The officers would be
Colin Clayton
David Armstrong
Neil Thomas

And councillors
Max Booth
Andrew Gardner
Tony Cox

Any communication from the above to the RNLI on a local and national level on the subject of developing vegetation at Hoylake Beach.”

Yours faithfully,

Richard

InfoMgr, FinDMT,

Thank you for your recent request made under the Freedom of Information
Act, which has been received by Wirral Borough Council.

In accordance with Section 8 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, a
requester should provide their name for a request to be processed (please
see the guidance from the Information Commissioner’s Office below):

What constitutes a real name?

We consider that a relatively informal approach is also appropriate in
this context. Therefore, title and/or first name with surname satisfies
the requirement for provision of a real name, as does the use by a female
applicant of her maiden name. The prime consideration is whether enough
of  a person’s full name has been provided to give a reasonable indication
of  that person’s identity.

Example:

Mr Arthur Thomas Roberts could satisfy Section 8(1)(b) of the FOIA by
stating his name in a request for information as “Arthur Roberts”, “A. T.

Roberts”, or “Mr Roberts”, but not by stating his name as “Arthur” or
“A.T.R.”

In most cases, it will be reasonable for a real name to comprise a name
by  which the person making the request is widely known and/or is
regularly  used by that person and which is not an obvious pseudonym or
fictitious  name.

Once Wirral Borough Council are in receipt of your full name, your
request  will be passed to the relevant department and we will aim to
issue a  substantive response within 20 working days.

Yours sincerely,
