Furniture Spending and Cost Saving

The request was partially successful.

Dear Enfield Council,
As a regular visitor to a number of libraries in the authority I cannot help but notice the frequency by which the library service is purchasing new furniture and equipment. To some this may seem like an important investment, however at a time when Councils should be saving money surely this is not a time to spend money on furniture and equipment when there is nothing wrong with the items that are already on the premises.

For each of the following libraries can you please provide the amounts of money spent on the provision of new furniture and equipment. Please provide a breakdown of the spend for each of the last five financial years.
Enfield Town
Palmers Green
Edmonton Green
Ordnance Road
Bowes Road
Southgate
Enfield Highway
Ponders End
Winchmore Hill
Enfield Island Village
Oakwood
Bullsmoor
Fore Street
Angel Raynham
Ridge Avenue
Milfield Community Library
Mobile Library

For the purposes of this request furniture should include: chairs, tables, shelving, carpets, mats and rugs.
For the purposes of this request equipment should include: paper, card, pens, pencils and other stationary items, ICT equipment (PC's, VDI boxes, laptops, monitors, keyboards, mice, routers, switches, firewalls, wifi access points), photocopiers, fax machines, tills, telephones.

As Councils financially plan ahead can the Council provide a three year forecast across all of the libraries listed on how the spend on such items will either increase/decrease.

Yours faithfully,

Henry P. Gupter
