Dear Mr Hai

Further to our acknowledgement of 31st  March we are now able to respond to your request for
information.

It should be noted however that, as per the Freedom of Information Act 2000, we do not have to
respond to questions where it would mean creating new information or giving an opinion or judgment
that is not already recorded.
We wil  respond to your questions below. You asked: -

With some staff likely to be furloughed due to coronavirus.

What wil  happen to staff salaries and benefits? Are they likely to get their full pay or wil  they get

the new grant which the Chancellor has set out?

Have you done an estimate of how many staff this is likely to impact?

If you do offer more generous pay than the Chancellor has announced how often wil  this be

reviewed?

With regard to the above questions, we are only aware of a grant from the Chancellor of the
Exchequer for private companies or for those who are self-employed and we are following the
government guidance for public organisations. Our staff are employed and where possible are able
to either work remotely to support our children and families or redeployed to support the children of
keyworkers through these difficult and challenging times. They are therefore paid in line with the
terms of their contracts.

If they are not sick but are otherwise unable to carry out duties remotely or be redeployed due to the
pandemic, the Trust has the option to furlough staff. This this option has not been used with any staff
nor are we required to calculate an estimate.

What is your recruitment policy in regards to this? As some staff maybe hired but wil  not be able to
perform their job due to the pandemic.

We do not hold this information. There is no recruitment policy specific to the pandemic, nor are we
required to have one. Government advice, to which we defer,  and the effects of a world-wide
pandemic changes on a daily basis.

I trust our response is useful. If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. The internal review wil  look at the handling of your request for
information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Internal review requests should be submitted within two months of the date of receipt of this response
and should be addressed to FOI Reviews c/o Dr. Donald Graham, Chair of Trust Board, Cuckoo Hall
Academies Trust, Cuckoo Hall Lane, Edmonton, London N9 8DR.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to
the Information Commissioner for a decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:
Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Telephone 0303 123 1113 www.ico.org.uk

Yours sincerely
