Furlough
Dear Plymouth City Council,
Please the maximum number of staff you have had off weekly on furlough since the Coronavirus. The information should be produced in the format of Theme, Unit and the period involved and number of staff.
Additionally please advise what the most recent figure of staff on furlough is. The information should be provided in the same manner as that detailed above.

Thank you for your request for information about furloughed employees.
Your request was received on 12 August 2020 and is being dealt with under
the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
We will aim to provide a response to your request within the statutory
timescale of 20 working days, by 10 September 2020. However, we would ask
for and would appreciate your understanding and patience, where this is
not possible at the present time.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many of the Council’s resources have being
refocussed to prioritise protection and support of the people and
businesses of Plymouth, and the continuity of our essential services. This
means that in the meantime, there will be less staff available to assist
with your request. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Our response will be sent by email or hard copy depending on how you made
your request and how the information is held.
If we’re unable to gather the information you’ve asked for within the cost
limit set by the government, which is 18 hours of staff time or £450, we
will contact you to discuss how we can meet your information needs within
this limit.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.
Please could you clarify the following points:
· A defined start date – the FOI states ‘since Coronavirus’. I would
assume that you mean the 23^rd March when we went into a nationwide
lockdown.
· Regarding the format what is meant by ‘theme’.
· ‘Period Involved’ – is this how long furlough has been in place at
the council. Or, is this length furlough has lasted for individual
employees.
