Funds Removed From HRA to Pay for Purchasing Ex-Council Homes on Regen Estates
Dear Lambeth Borough Council,
On five of the six regeneration estates in Lambeth, there are tenants who are being evicted from ex-leasehold properties bought back by the council that had been rented out to private renters. Other leasehold properties have been bought and simply left vacant.
How many of the ex-leasehold and ex-freehold homes will be placed into the HRA from all six estates?
How many will not? What will happen to these?
As all or some of these properties are earmarked to be transformed into bonafide council homes, could you tell me how much money will Lambeth Council receive from the HRA for this exchange?
In other words, how much will be removed from the HRA to compensate for the increase in housing stock?
Yours faithfully,
Sabine Mairey
