Funds raised by wedding announcement posting
Dear General Register Office,
Please would you provide details of the revenue collected by individual register offices for the public announcement of weddings? For example, Hatfield Register Office charges £35 per person and publishes/posts the announcement for 28 days prior to the wedding.
Please provide total revenue data for the past 3 years, for each register office in England where such announcements are made public, and the number of announcements published.
Please also confirm whether or not you hold information on the number of comments, objections or other responses to these public announcements that may be made by members of the public during the time that the wedding details are made public. If you do, I would also like to request that you provide statistics on number and type of intervention for each register office for the same time period.
Yours faithfully,
Robert Davidson
