Funding of the Edinburgh Commonwealth Swimming Pool

The request was partially successful.

Lorraine Binsley

Dear Edinburgh Leisure,
Please could you supply me with details of total expenditure shown separately by financial years for 2016/17, 2017/18 and 2018/19 for Edinburgh Commonwealth Pool Facility and could you also provide me with income for the same financial years shown separately. Please could you list what the expenditure was made on eg staffing, Utility costs etc.
May I ask in a financial year what times and days the commonwealth pool is open and the average number of people that have used the facility per day. Please state if the facility is funded by any grant or monies from other sources apart from Council Tax and income from members of the public use and how much this is. Many Thanks and I look forward to your response .

Yours faithfully,

Lorraine Binsley

RCP is entirely funded by public use (income) for direct costs less
expenditure. We are not funded by Council tax, we received £8,075k
contract income from City of Edinburgh Council in financial year 2017/18
which was a reduction on £8,308k in 2016/17.

This information is readily available in our March 2018 Board Report on
our website.
