The request was successful.

Dear Newbattle Abbey College,

Under Freedom of Information Scotland, I wish to receive the following information within 20 working days:

1. Please provide details of the amount of additional funding allocated to you by Scottish Funding Council for Mental Health in Colleges for AY 21-22. For the avoidance of doubt, I am referring to the funding provided which was supplementary to the college’s core funds.
2. Please advise what proportion of these funds will be spent or is proposed to be spent on Support Staff/Lecturing Staff/Students. Please provide separate figures for each.
3. Please advise how the additional funds will be spent or are proposed to be spent on each separate group.
4. Please advise whether the recognised trade unions were consulted before submission of the document or on any subsequent decisions taken?

Yours faithfully,

John Gallacher

Joyce Clark, Newbattle Abbey College

Good morning

To reply to your request:

1 We are to receive £2,340 from the Scottish Funding Council, and, to date, have received £1,170.

2 Given the small number of staff - 46; and students - 63, we would propose to split the funding, which would give each member of staff and each student approximately £20.

3 For staff we are in the process of setting up a Mental Health Working Group which will consist of representatives from each area of the college ie Lecturing, Admin, Estates & Facilities, Catering, Housekeeping, Forest College, this will ensure that all staff are consulted on how the funds should be spent. The Student Representative Council will consult with students and make their plans for spend on students.

4 Trade Unions have not been consulted so far.

I hope this answers your request, but if you need any further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

Kind regards

Joyce
