Funding for Jubilee street bunting

The request was successful.

Dear Hillingdon Borough Council

On May 1, 2012 red white and blue bunting was fitted above shop windows along the Victoria Road in Ruislip Manor.

The bunting and its installation is understood locally to be paid by Ruislip Manor Chamber of Commerce (RMCC), which in turn received more than £ 3500 from Hillingdon Borough Council for the project.

Please give details of the actual amount RMCC received and conditions for its use and also the process by which the funding was provided including copies of all related minutes, correspondence, quotations or invoices received prior to or after the payment was made.

Yours faithfully,

James Jones

Dear Mr Jones

Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.

Having throughly investigated your request our response is as follows:-

Recommendation to award a £ 3,296 Grant to Ruislip Manor Chamber of
Commerce to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee is detailed within the May
ward budget report published on the council website (link here to the
full cabinet report and supporting
information[1]www.hillingdon.gov.uk/ctteedocs/new_executive_decisions/cab_performance/rep_cab_performance_21may12.pdf

Ward budget funding is used for proposals submitted directly from ward
councillors, to respond to local priorities and to make a difference in
a local area. Primarily the funds are intended for one-off expenditure
on physical works, events or activities that have a positive impact
within the ward.

Given the significance of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations a number of
ward budget grants have been made this year to support local events
across the borough.

We hope this provides you with the information you are seeking.

If you wish to discuss this matter please do not hesitate to contact me on
