Funding Delay

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department of Justice (Northern Ireland),

1. Please can you confirm that all groups usually funded by the Northern Ireland police fund have had proposed funding delayed pending the outcome of the political situation.

2. Please can you confirm specifically whether the RUC widows funding has been delayed, or not, by your department?

Yours faithfully,

Trevor McKee

Dear Mr McKee,

Thank you for your e-mail of 18 April 2017. Given that your request poses questions, rather than asking for a copy of recorded information, we are treating your query under normal line of business. We hope that you are content with this approach.

Please see responses below to the queries you have raised.

1. Please can you confirm that all groups usually funded by the Northern Ireland police fund have had proposed funding delayed pending the outcome of the political situation.

I can confirm that the Department does not hold this information. You may wish to contact the Northern Ireland Police Fund (NIPF) directly for this information. Their address, telephone number and e-mail address are provided below:

Northern Ireland Police Fund
Maryfield Complex
100 Belfast Road

Telephone: 02890 39 3556 e-mail: [email address]

2. Please can you confirm specifically whether the RUC widows funding has been delayed, or not, by your department?

Any bids made by the RUC GC Widows' Association (the Association) to the NIPF is a matter for NIPF. The Department does not hold this information.

The Department does, however, provide funding by way of a grant to the Association. I can confirm that for 2017-18, the Department is maintaining funding to the Association at the normal level, until the outcome of the current budget situation is known.

I hope this information is helpful.

Regards.
