The request was refused by Post Office Limited.

Dear Post Office Limited,
I would like to request information at a high level indicating how the taxpayer has funded the opening of branches over the last 3 or 4 years (3 years or current year and last 3 years).
I would like this split by year (financial or calendar) by either independent Postmaster or by multiple / strategic partner. For example a table like below:
Year Postmaster Type £
2018 Independent
2018 Partner
2019 Independent
2019 Partner
2020 Independent
2020 Partner
2021 Independent
2021 Partner

If you wish to clarify, please do not hesitate to contact me via email.
Yours faithfully,

Guy

Dear Post Office Limited,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Post Office Limited's handling of my FOI request 'Funding Branch Openings'.

I note that your 2019-20 accounts the Chief Executive makes reference at page 4 to government support https://corporate.postoffice.co.uk/secur....
The chief executive states:
“However, with Government support Post Office remains a going concern, able to provide essential services across the UK-wide network.”.
Therefore, I would assume the spend for branch openings across the UK-wide network would need to be receipted, tracked and audited to ensure that it was used appropriately and for the correct reasons.
This spend I also assume would be both at a low level, for example at each individual branch opening, and then accumulated together to produce an overall spend per year on branch opening activity.
Therefore, my assumption is that you do hold information in regards to the total spend in relation to branch openings.
If this is the case I would expect the overall total spend to be released with a further explanation to if the information is also segregated by how much was funded to independent Postmaster branches and multiple / strategic partner branches”.
If the information is help on overall spend but not split by the specifics of my question I find it disappointing that potentially Ms Jackson did not help with narrowing my request further.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/f...

Yours faithfully,

Guy
