Dear Naomi

I refer to your Freedom of Information request to which I am now in a
position to respond on behalf of Broadland District Council. My response
is outlined below along with your questions for ease of reference.

 1. What funding (if any) do you offer to small businesses in the local
area?

The funding we offer can be viewed via the link here
[1]https://www.southnorfolkandbroadland.gov...

 2. How many grants (if any) do you offer to small businesses in the local
area?

The different grants we offer can be viewed here
[2]https://www.southnorfolkandbroadland.gov...

 3. If funding or grants are offered, please can you provide the specific
monetary figures that are available to small businesses in the local
area.

The grant amounts do vary and will depend on the qualifying expenditure of
the business but details are available here
[3]https://www.southnorfolkandbroadland.gov...

4. How many grants, or funding offers, were applied for and successfully
granted to small businesses in the calendar years 2021, 2022 and 2023.

The data we hold is by financial year rather than calendar year but the
numbers of grants paid are:

  2021/22 2022/23 2023/24
No of grants paid Nil (Covid grants still in 39 88
operation)
Funding offers successfully     25
made

We have not included covid grants as these were one-off and nationally
available and managed, rather than “local”. In addition, many of these
were mandatory, rather than applied for.

I hope this is of assistance and is sufficient to meet your requirements,
but if for whatever reason you wish to get back to me, please feel free to
do so. In particular if you are unhappy with the information provided or
how your request was handled, please let me know and I will explain how
you can request an internal review of our decision.

Please quote BFOI 24-135 in any further correspondence concerning this
request.

Regards

Emma
