following information:

1. What funding (if any) do you offer to small businesses in the local
area?

2. How many grants (if any) do you offer to small businesses in the local
area?

3. If funding or grants are offered, please can you provide the specific
monetary figures that are available to small businesses in the local area.

4. How many grants, or funding offers, were applied for and successfully
granted to small businesses in the calendar years 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Dear Naomi

Further to your request, please see the following response:

1. SDC does not currently have its own economic development grant scheme
as we have a very small budget.
2. The funding we have available for business support is through the
Shared Prosperity Fund which provides six business support programmes.
These are managed by Warwickshire County Council, who commission delivery
bodies such as the Chamber of Commerce, Warwick Science Park, Oxford
Innovation and Coventry City Council to deliver the following programmes:
- enterprise start up and support
- business resilience
- manufacturing support
- tourism, leisure and hospitality support
- high growth innovation support
- energy efficiency low carbon support
These programmes ran last year and are open for businesses to apply this
year until March 2025
3. The Warwickshire Growth hub are able to sign to these
programmes and have access to a range of funding
opportunities across Warwickshire.
4. As stated SDC do not provide grants for the years stated, other than
the Government Covid grants, which were managed by our revenues team but
were not normal business support grants you are referring to.

SDC have committed £518000 of business support funding from SPF into the
above programmes for 2024-2025 as part of all districts and county pooling
the funding to support and benefit businesses directly through advice and
support rather than grants.
