FOI VERINT, Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council

Dear applicant,

Thank you for your request.

Unfortunately, your request is ‘not valid’ under the Freedom of Information
(FOI) Act 2000 for the following reason(s):

For a request to be valid, the applicant must provide enough of their real name
to give anyone reading that request a reasonable indication of their identity.
This means that if the council officer processing the request cannot identify
the applicant from the name provided, the request will be invalid. Guidance
issued by the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) states that any variation
of an applicant’s title or first name combined with their surname (e.g. Mr Smith
or John Smith) will be sufficient to meet the requirements of the FOI Act.
However, a first name or surname provided in isolation, or a set of initials,
will not.

Example: A requester named Robert Jones could call themselves ‘Rob Jones’,
‘Bobby Jones’, ‘R Jones’, ‘Bob Jones’ or ‘Mr Jones’. However, they could not
just use ‘Robert’, ‘Bob’, ‘Bobby’ or ‘R.J’.

If you wish to provide a reasonable indication of your identity that meets the
requirements of a valid request under the FOI Act, we will be more than happy to
process your request.
