funding amounts for dementia nursing placements in care homes for Wandsworth residents.

We're waiting for Lorraine Boyle to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Wandsworth Borough Council,

I would like a breakdown of the amount of money funded by Wandsworth Local Authority for each resident that requires a dementia and nursing placement in a care home. I do not expect to see the names of other residents as I appreciate that is confidential information, just the amounts that they are funded by Wandsworth.
My Mother's care home is closing down. We were given no support to identify another care home but after much searching we found one ourselves that can meet her needs and has a vacancy.
The panel have refused it on the grounds of expense even though it is cheaper than the local authority rate charged at her previous home.

Please can you give me an idea of how long it will take to get this information?

Yours faithfully,

Lorraine Boyle

Dear Loraine
My mother was given notice to quit this home after refusing to address complaints and photos re poor care - all complaints have been ignored to date and photos of poor care - by management and HO of FSHC and the authorities involved

your request will take at least 40 days if indeed they answer and do not use the get out clause
Try the MP Jane Ellison she is ware of this home and its issues as is other Councillors Rory Obrien - the lack of transparency is mind blowing as is the ignoring of residents rights under the NHS constitution and the MCA the Wandsworth Guardian recently did an article on this care home....you are not alone this happens to many up and down the country

The Council has a number of approved care and nursing home providers where
we can offer placements to Wandsworth residents who are in need of
residential and or nursing home care.  There is not one set rate across
all providers but rather Wandsworth agrees a set of rates with each
individual provider. We have detailed below the range of rates across the
homes according to type of care being provided.

Frail Elderly Care rates – range from £555.50 to £764.53 per week

Dementia / Elderly Mental Health (EMI) rates – range from £606 to £783.66
per week

The Council will pay any net contributions outstanding subject to
financial assessment, eligibility for Funded Nursing Care for example.
