Funding

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust,

I would like to find out how much funding you receive per head of population and if you can tell me how that compares to all other ambulance services in England.

Yours faithfully,

Joel Lamy

foi (EAST OF ENGLAND AMBULANCE SERVICE NHS TRUST),

Thank you for your email. This acknowledgement has been triggered
electronically and means that your email has been received by the
Information Governance Department. Your request will be dealt with under
the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and it is our intention to respond to
you within twenty working days.

Please note that the volume of FoI requests received by this Trust now
exceeds available resources and given the need for all Trusts to reduce
corporate expenditure to within those targets set by the Carter Review, no
additional capacity is available to support our increasing workload.
Depending on the complexity and volume of your request, this context may
impact on our ability to respond to your request as soon as we would like.

Dear Joel,

Further to your email on the 22nd February, please find the Trust’s response below. Your request has been allocated the following reference: 14907 please quote this reference in any future correspondence with the Trust.

I would like to find out how much funding you receive per head of population and if you can tell me how that compares to all other ambulance services in England.

Based on ONS Mid-2016 Population Estimates for Clinical Commissioning Groups in England, our 2017-18 Emergency Services contract equates to funding of £34.73 per head.

We do not hold information on other ambulance trusts. However in the National Audit Office Ambulance Service Report for 2015-16 on page 17 there is a graph to show the income per head by ambulance service found on: https://www.nao.org.uk/wp-content/upload...

I am obliged to advise you that if you are dissatisfied with the Trust’s response to your request you have a right to complain to the Trust and should set out your concerns to the Freedom of Information Officer, EEAST, Hospital Approach, Broomfield, Chelmsford, Essex, CM1 7WS or by email to [East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust request email]. If you remain dissatisfied following this, you have a right under Section 50 of the FOIA to seek a determination from the Information Commissioner on whether the Act has been properly applied by the Trust. For more information, please see www.ico.gov.uk.

Under the Accessible Information Standard the Trust are required to ask our FOI applicants equality and diversity questions. You are under no obligation; however we would be grateful if you could complete the form attached and email back to us.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you require any further information.

Kind regards

FoI Officer
East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust
