Full dispersal scheme
Dear St Helens Metropolitan Borough Council,
Can you confirm that you are taking in African refugees under the Government's full dispersal scheme?
I understand that all council authorities are required to take these people in and note with interest that this definitely has been happening on some scale nationwide.
With massive estates such as Parr there should surely be newly arrived immigrants being given housing.
Yours faithfully,
Robert Toone

Dear Robert Toone
Thank you for your recent Freedom of Information request, which has been
reassigned to me today.
Please note that the full dispersal scheme is about the accommodation and
support of asylum seekers in the UK, not refugees. The scheme is managed
by the Home Office and we in the council do not own information about it.
You need to contact the Home Office for information requests, including
any breakdowns of asylum seekers by country of nationality, and so on.
More generic information about asylum support and the dispersal scheme can
be found in publicly available data that is released on a quarterly basis
as 'immigration system statistics' under 'migration statistics'. You can
find this information on www.gov.uk.
Kind regards,
Saulo Cwerner
