Frequency requirement policy on bus consultations

The request was successful.

Dear Transport for London,

From the recent wide consultation on proposed changes to Central London. No mention of the frequency changes of most of the bus routes proposed for route restructuring.

Could you please provide the consultation policy on frequency changes are a requirement to be displayed on bus consultations?

Yours faithfully,

Sean Cirillo

Dear Mr Cirillo

TfL Ref: 0717-2223

Thank you for your request received by us on 23 June 2022 asking for
information about bus consultations.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of
the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You
asked for the following:

From the recent wide consultation on proposed changes to Central London.
No mention of the frequency changes of most of the bus routes proposed for
route restructuring.

Could you please provide the consultation policy on frequency changes are
a requirement to be displayed on bus consultations?

We can advise that the Central London Bus Review consultation is seeking
feedback on a number of proposals to change central London’s route
structures. Whilst we are not required to consult on frequency changes, we
do sometimes include frequency details in consultations if we believe it
is an important feature that will help people understand the proposals.

Bus frequencies change regularly and sometimes at short notice for a wide
range of reasons, including day to day operational reasons. Although it
would not be practical to consult on every frequency change, we continue
to keep the public updated by publicising these changes online and at bus
stop timetables.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable
to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to
appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would
like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
