Dear Mr Webber,

Freedom of Information Request - RFI20182293

Thank you for your request to the BBC of 7 December seeking the following
information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’):

‘The Corporation has suggested in its report that it has active discussions ongoing with
HMRC and that it may consider in some instances making a contribution towards the
tax bills of those deemed to have outstanding amounts.

Has the Corporation concluded its discussions with HMRC?

Has the Corporation paid any amount to HMRC on behalf of contractors or
freelancers?

Has the Corporation made any provision for any such amounts to be paid and if so, how
much?’

Please be advised that the Freedom of Information Act gives a general right of
access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities.  This is not a
request for recorded information, and we are not required to create new
information to respond to a request, or give a judgement or opinion that is not
already recorded.
However,  on this occasion we can confirm that discussions with HMRC are still
underway and have not concluded.
