Dear Scottish Teachers for Permanence,
 
REQUEST UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (SCOTLAND) ACT 2002 (FOISA)
 
I am writing regarding your request dated 02/10/2024 for information about:
"1.         Teacher Retention and Turnover Data:
Data on teacher retention rates and turnover (attrition rates) in Scotland from 1st January 2018 to the
present, broken down by:
            •           Permanent teachers
            •           Fixed-term teachers
            •           Supply teachers
            2.         Reasons for Leaving the Profession:
Any available reports or analysis that identify the reasons for teachers leaving the profession or having
difficulty securing permanent employment, particularly in relation to:
            •           The availability of permanent positions
            •           Working conditions
            •           Pay or financial incentives
            •           The availability of supply work
If possible, please provide this data for each academic year from 2018 to the present."

(Scotland) Act 2002 (FOISA), state the name of the applicant. As your request does not state your name, we
do not consider it to be a valid request. Accordingly, we are not obliged to respond to it.
