I am writing to request information under the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 regarding the Old Town Market in Margate, which falls under the jurisdiction of Thanet District Council. I am interested in obtaining detailed information related to the management and operation of the market. Please provide the following information:
1. What is the financial arrangement between Thanet District Council and the market operator? Specifically, please provide details regarding the fees or payments received by the council from the market operator on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
2. Could you specify the maximum limit imposed by Thanet District Council on the number of traders permitted to participate in the Old Town Market Margate simultaneously?
3. Please provide details, including any available plans or drawings, that outline the total number of pitches permitted by Thanet District Council for operation by the market operator at the Old Town Market Margate.
4. How many pitches are granted for food vendors to operate at the Old Town Market Margate, and what criteria govern the allocation of these?
5. How often does Thanet District Council reissue or renew the license for the operation of the Old Town Market Margate?
6. Has there been a tender process for the operation of the Old Town Market Margate? If so, please provide comprehensive details regarding the tender process, its outcomes, and any associated agreements.

There is no mention of the old Kent Market in my original request.
The request is in relation to the market held in Market Place, in Margate old town square. This is referred to publicly at ‘The Margate old town Market’.

owned and managed by Kent County Council.

Dear Thanet District Council,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to request an internal review of Thanet District Council's handling of my Freedom of Information (FOI) request titled 'Freedom of Information Request - Old Town Market Margate'.
We have recently contacted Kent County Council regarding this matter, and they have informed us that they do not hold the information requested. Kent County Council has clarified that the Old Town Market in Margate falls under Thanet District Council’s jurisdiction and that they are not responsible for the running of markets across Kent.

Further to your request for a review of our response, we have now
conducted such a review and the decision has been upheld for the following
reasons:
We have consulted our records and with our Legal team and from the image
attached, it shows the land in pink that Thanet District Council owns,
which in this case are the buildings. We do not, however, own the market
place itself that is marked in grey. We understand that it is Kent County
Council that owns the marketplace.
We have been unable to determine if any agreement exists between Kent
County Council and Thanet District Council for running the market,
however, our licensing and property and asset teams do not hold any
information about this market.
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision.
