Scottish Teachers for Permanence

Dear Dundee City Council,

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 regarding internal communications or discussions related to reductions in teacher numbers, and the offering of casual supply or fixed-term contracts instead of permanent positions. Specifically, I request the following for the years 2022 to the present:
1. Internal Communications: Copies of any internal communications, such as emails, memos, or reports, regarding reductions in teacher numbers, or the practice of offering casual supply or fixed-term contracts instead of permanent positions for teachers. This includes any correspondence between council officials, departments, or other relevant stakeholders.
2. Meeting Minutes: Copies of meeting minutes or records from any council meetings, working groups, or committees where reductions in teacher numbers, teacher shortages, or the movement of probationers into fixed-term or casual supply contracts instead of permanent roles were discussed.

If no such documents or communications exist, please confirm this explicitly in your response.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to receiving your response within the statutory timeframe.

Yours faithfully,
Stuart Wysocki
