Dear Ms Lucas,

We refer to previous correspondence regarding your request for information
relating to: Council Housing Demand by Bedroom Type.

The information is given below:

 1. The number of applicants on your council housing waiting list by
property type:
- 1-bed property - 1670
- 2-bed property - 676
- 3-bed property - 321
- 4-bed property plus - 69

2. The average waiting time for each property type listed below:
- 1-bed property – 384 Days
- 2-bed property – 827 Days
- 3-bed property – 324 Days
- 4-bed property – 196 days
- 5+ bed property – No 5 Beds

Please note that the waiting times are not necessarily a complete true
reflection on waiting times as we operate a choice based lettings
system where applicants express their interest in specific properties.
When specific areas are required an applicant may choose to wait a
considerable length of time if vacancies are few and far between,
sometimes years and this will affect the average, making the wait
appear longer than it may need to be.

We are also a rural District covering a large geographical area which
includes remote villages as well as more popular built-up areas which are
highly sought after with a much greater demand. This demand impacts the
waiting time again, as applicants prefer to wait rather than accept
accommodation in less desired locations.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be
submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response,

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
